Fabien Vanden Abeele

Fabien Vanden Abeele is an INSERM Researcher at Lille University. His main research focuses on the mechanisms regulating cancer biology with a particular focus on ion channels. During his PhD training at University of Lille and as a post-doctoral fellow at KU Leuven in Belgium, he acquired a solid background in the field of ion channels. Since 2005, he joined the U-1003 headed by Prof. Prevarkaya where he set up a theme on the role of ORAI channel in cancer progression initiated during his PhD. Since 2024, he joined the U-1192 headed by Pr M. Salzet and now leads a research group focused on the role of ion channels in the crosstalk between nerves and cancer cells in the tumor microenvironment by using spatial Omics.
