Alexandre GOOSSEN

  • PhD Student

Alexandre Goossen is a Ph.D. student specializing in bio-organic chemistry and mass spectrometry imaging. His research focuses on the development of molecular probes for TAGMass-mediated mass spectrometry imaging, under the supervision of Prof. Cédric Lion (UMR CNRS 8576) and Prof. Isabelle Fournier (UMR INSERM 1192). His research interests span mass spectrometry imaging, molecular probe development, synthetic chemistry, and bioanalytical techniques, with the goal of advancing spatial omics and molecular imaging applications in biomedical research
Before beginning his doctoral studies, Alexandre obtained a Master’s degree in Bio-Organic Chemistry Applied to Life Sciences (2020-2022), where he worked on the total synthesis of natural meroterpenoids and the hydroboration of methylene isoindolinones for application in Suzuki-Miyaura and photocatalysis reactions. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry (2017-2020), during which he studied the biosynthesis of N-glycoproteins in fibroblasts from Man2C1-deficient patients.
In 2022-2023, Alexandre worked as a research engineer on the multi-step synthesis of molecular probes for MALDI imaging, further refining his expertise in synthetic chemistry, mass spectrometry, and molecular imaging techniques.
